Veneziani Gel Prime

Undercoat mono-component anti-rust easy to apply, it has an excellent covering power and can be used as a matt finish for interiors or as an intermediate coat for single-component cycles. It can be applied on old mono-component primers and finishes, sanded down, wooden surfaces and bare ferrous substrates.
It must not be applied on inorganic galvanizers or galvanized sheets. Not suitable for continuous immersion.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Wood: The moisture level shall not exceed 18%, Sand down the surface with sanding paper n° P120 - P80. Before proceeding with the application, blow with fresh and dry air, in order to remove any
residual of sanding and dirt. Apply the primer with one coat of Adherprox, apply another coat with less dilution. Sandpaper with abrasive paper P80-P120. Before proceeding with the application of Gel Prime, blow down with fresh and clean air, in order to remove any trace of sanding and dirt.
Steel: Pressurize with fresh water and remove all traces of oil and grease (if necessary, wash with a specific solvent). All surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry and free of contaminants. mechanical cleaning grade St 3. Primer with two coats of Adherpox, clean and proceed with the application of Gel Prime.
Old mono-component topcoat: remove the detaching parts by scraping and sanding with P180 - P220 paper. Before proceeding with the application of Gel Prime, blow with clean, dry air to remove any residue of sanding and dirt.
Apply on dry surfaces free of oils, greases and other contaminants after degreasing and sanding.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicable by brush, roller, spray. Mix well the product in order to ensure complete homogeneity.
Apply a constant thickness with a sequence of crossed coats to ensure uniform coverage. Generally no dilution is required: if it is necessary to add Thinner 6470 up to a maximum of 5% in volume.
The product can also be applied on old bare wood. In this case it is advisable to dilute the first coat of Gel Prime with 10-20% of Thinner 6740 in order to impregnate the substrate well.

CONDITIONS DURING APPLICATION
In order to avoid the formation of condensation, the temperature of the surface should be at least 3 °C above dew point. During the application and curing the min. ambient temperature must not be lower than 10 °C or higher than 30 °C; substrate temperature must not be lower than 5 °C, since curing is remarkably reduced at lower temperatures. Application is not advisable when relative humidity exceeds 75%. The term-hygrometric survey should be carried out near the surface to be coated. Make sure there
is enough ventilation when the application takes place in closed areas.
